Individual therapy

Find insight, steadiness and freedom.

You may feel pushed by anxiety, demands, or painful past experiences.

Many of my clients are used to being self-sufficient and high-achieving. They are used to managing heavy demands, and they are more often in the role of caring for others than receiving care themselves. Internally, though, there is some part of them that is struggling and asking for some attention. They may find themselves wound up in anxiety and unable to rest. They may carry an aching pain that lingers and resurfaces when they are reminded of past experiences. They may feel blindsided by strong emotional reactions. They may absorb significant stress in the pressures of leadership, work or caregiving.

You can enter into a spacious and steady place.

It is possible for difficulty and challenge to actually produce a steady, grounded wisdom. It is possible to grow in fearlessness, freedom, and rest in your life and relationships. This is possible with accompaniment and a trustworthy process. These are my areas of expertise:

  • Anxiety

  • Trauma and painful past experiences

  • Difficulties in relationships

  • Stress of leadership, work or caregiving

  • Challenges in family of origin

  • Social anxiety, panic and phobias

My Approach

I will take the time to deeply listen and understand you, and I am also actively engaged in offering you something new. I am grateful for years of training and experience in rich, depth-oriented forms of therapy (e.g. attachment-based, psychodynamic, family systems) and years of training and experience in the best evidence-based therapies (e.g. CBT, DBT, cognitive processing therapy for PTSD). This enables me to be responsive in informed ways to what you need in a particular season. I am also able to work with cultural/spiritual/religious dimensions of experience in nuanced ways so that you can rest into bringing your full self to therapy.
